Sleek & Styled: Closet Meet Car

all in the details

When Autotrader first reached out to me about exploring their favorite fashionable cars, I knew that this was going to be fun. I’ve been a big fan of Autotrader for years, actually ever since I interned for the brand in college. These folks just get it. They know that consumers want new and used cars and they make it so easy to find your perfect car – just like shopping online for your new look. I love being able to find what I’m looking for by filtering by size, color, or silhouette – or in this case, by year, make, model and location. Dream car – found easy.

Pairing me with the Porsche 718 Cayman 2017 was a good idea because so many of the elements of the car speak directly to my style. Whether we are talking about the sleek leather seats, ahem – I’m obsessed with this leather jacket – or the mixed material interior inspiring my mixed material satchel, the Porsche 718 is my kind of car.

off the road, into your closet

Fashion translates into every aspect of your life. For me living in a non-commuter city, I spend hours a day in my vehicle so it has to represent who I am. I describe my style as simple yet significant so when I am looking at cars I know I want a classic color, high-end finishes, and attention to the details. I’m obsessed with the gold accents in the Porsche logo (obviously, because everything in my life needs to have a touch of gold). It’s just who I am and I want my car to represent me. Autotrader knows that and they teamed up with Mazda USA and Laurel Berman, who’s the founder and creative director of Black Halo and they broke down the big similarities between fashion and car interior design. You can check out that video here. You can also read all about how Autotrader pairs fashion accessories & the most stylish cars they inspired (and you might even see a familiar face) here.
