Curating each room of our home was a task that I took very seriously (and enjoyed immensely)! I wanted the space to serve its purpose, yet also be reflective of who we are as a family. I’ve already shared my coffee table with you, and this post was so much fun to put together because it’s a project that I’ve been tweaking for months.
I recently shared my favorite entryways with you, and now it’s time to share mine. Here are 4 tips for styling your entryway:
I love the idea of having something that reflects you & your family at the entryway. For Sahir and I, we chose to frame our favorite picture from our engagement shoot and hang it above the console. Other ways to incorporate personalization include having your family monogram, a stack of picture albums, or a little trinket.
2. Color Scheme
As per the rest of our home, we kept a cohesive color scheme starting with the entryway. Elements of gold are dispersed throughout the house, so it only made sense to make a statement from the start.
3. Fun & Functional
I wanted to keep the entryway visually appealing but also functional. We often store guest’s shoes underneath the console (in Asian households you remove your shoes when entering), we keep envelopes, stamps, and other basic necessities in the drawer, and of course, our keys on the tray.
4. Make it Memorable
Two of our best friends got us this amazing record player for our wedding. They have great taste and knew that this would fit seamlessly into the decor that we’ve chosen. It’s such a unique piece and everyone who visits are our home comments on it. Picking things to display that have a story to tell is a great way to break the ice with guests!
