When you’ve been with your partner for a while, sometimes it can seem like you have nothing to talk about. Maybe you’ve been together for a few years, maybe you are married, or maybe you are high-school sweethearts who have been together for over 12 years (hello!) Unintentionally, your meal times can be degraded to sitting side by side and watching endless reruns of New Girl until one or both of you pick up your phones and start multitasking or working…View Post
There are so many times in your life when you feel like you just can’t make time for yourself. I’ve found that with time, schedules get busier and busier and you have to make time for the things that you care about. Your best life is not when you are solely fulfilled by your work – rather when you feel happy in your home life, work life, and personal life holistically…View Post
I get it. We’re all busy. It’s tough to make it to the gym or a studio class. Time is scarce between work, school, family, and extra curriculars. And sometimes the $30/pop for a class just isn’t feasible. The good news it that there are so many great free programs available online that you can do in the comfort of your own home with little to no equipment. Here are my favorites…View Post
When you get into a new relationship there is a period of time that you have to truly get to know each other. You’re still in your honeymoon phase and everything is rosey with unicorns and sunshine… until you have your first fight. What happens now? Was it a deal-breaker? Do you stop talking for a while? Not sleep till you figure it out? (BAD advice, FYI – sleep on it, always) But all of a sudden the tables have turned and you are in uncharted territory. How you deal with conflict will define your relationship whether this is a casual fling or something long-term…View Post
A few weeks ago, I was invited as a guest of the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa in Miramar Beach, Florida to come spend 4 days on their gorgeous property with 6 of the most incredible bloggers. I couldn’t say “yes!” fast enough! I was so excited for the opportunity to get away and beach life is exactly what I needed. It was easy to trade in the Atlanta rain for crisp beach air and white sand beaches. The Hilton Sandestin Resort has been recognized with the Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating and has been named one of the ‘Top 20 Florida Golf Resorts’ and I can easily see why. My experience was far better than I ever imagined – they truly rolled out the red carpet for us and you absolutely have to stay here the next time you head to Sandestin. Here’s what we did:View Post
It’s Theo’s first birthday! I can’t believe my little pup is already one. It’s true they do grow up too fast! Especially since this nugget was full grown at around 7 months and we got him at 2 months, so it was less than half a year of having a baby puppy.
Having a dog was something that Sahir and I always talked about hypothetically, but I didn’t ever think would come to fruition. When we decided to …View Post
For years, we’ve been told that 30 is the new 20 and for the most part, I’ve believed it. Although I’m the exception, for most people marriage happens later, kids happen later, we are living longer – why not? Having an extra 10 years to figure out your life sounds incredible and we would be silly to rush it. Or so I thought…. I listened to a Ted Talk a few years ago that has completely changed the way that I aim to live in my 20s. It’s from…View Post
There are a few different things you have to know about me. 1) I’m happily married to my high school sweetheart 2) I love to dance 3) I am obsessed with avocado toast. Let’s focus on the third one today. There are so many ways to top your toast and I get so many DMs on Instagram…View Post
I was chatting last week with a few girls about love and relationships and I was asked: “What is the biggest sacrifice that I’ve made in my marriage?” I had spent the entire night chatting away, but on this one – I was stumped. “Sacrifice? What do you mean? I love being married. I chose my partner myself, he’s wonderful to me. What sacrifice could I have possibly made?” Three days later, it dawned on me.
You have to understand that I married one of the sweetest, kindest, and selfless men there are in the world. He wants the best for me and almost always over what’s beneficial for him. He is the kind of man that every woman should marry, and he doesn’t ask for much from me. But this one thing was important to him.View Post
I try to make my own snacks so I know what goes in them. It’s a little more effort, but barely, and I can feel better knowing there isn’t any added sugar or sodium. Whenever I make a trail mix I usually use a few of my favorite things. The worst thing is getting a store-bought mix that has raisins (that you think are chocolate) or other things that you just don’t like. Fill it with your favorites so you can enjoy every bite. Here is my recipe for my homemade trail mix…View Post
