It’s no secret that athleisure is one of my favorite fashion trends. Finding different ways to style clothes that work for both the gym and real-life, has become a passionate hobby of mine. I’ve recently been finding brands of activewear that are quality – and – don’t break the bank. When you are first building your workout wardrobe it can be disheartening to spend so much money on “just gym clothes” but the truth is that Millenial women spend more time in Athleisure wear than any thing else. We wear it to classes, we wear it to run errands, and we practically live in it on the weekends. Sometimes it’s worth spending a little more money especially when you calculate the use (remember my strategy?). I’ve broken down where I get each of my favorite workout pieces and how much to spend:
I love experimenting here. One of my favorite Youtubers, Cassey Ho, recently launched an activewear line called PopFlex Active and she has some of the most unique and well-crafted pieces. I love the workout tops – I bought 3 of them on launch day! I always get compliments on the pieces I wear from her collection. These pieces usually run about $30-$50 each.
I don’t currently have an allegiance for sports bra shopping, but because open-back tops are my favorite – having a stylish bra back is ideal for me. I’ve picked up a few favorites at Forever 21 or Victoria Secret Sport. I usually spend between $15-$30 here.
I have to admit that when I started my athleisure collection, I bought tons of Forever 21 yoga leggings and still do from time to time. I’ve started to realize that investing in a few good pairs of leggings can be worth it. My other leggings have holes in them after a few months and I have to keep repurchasing. Even though they run for about $25, it makes more sense to spend double and get one pair that will last twice as long. Which is why I’m a big fan of Zella, by Nordstrom. Zella leggings are amazing and only run about $50-$70 dollars each.
Pullovers are generally where I invest in my workout pieces. Because of the longevity, most of the jackets that I own are either Athleta or Victoria Secret (seen above). I generally spend about $50-$80 on these pieces.
