WHAT TO DO IF YOU ONLY HAVE 72 HOURS IN CHICAGO

Chicago

For my birthday this year, I took a trip to Chicago and I decided to try my hand at vlogging. Every year my husband has a big work conference that happens to fall on the first week of May and thus a tradition of “birthdays on the go” began. Every year we spend my birthday in a different city and I am certainly not complaining. We’ve been to New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, and this year – Chicago! This was my second visit to the city and even though we did mostly different things, I still feel like there is so much to see.

Spending 72 hours in Chicago is certainly not enough time to explore everything that the city has to offer, but in case that’s all you have, check out my video above for a sneak peek of all of the amazing food, activities, landmarks, oh did I mention FOOD – that Chicago has to offer.

Of course, we stayed at the W Lakeshore, it’s the only place that I stay when I come to Chicago. The location is ideal and there is nothing like waking up to a view of the sunrise above the lake. So beautiful! The sun rises pretty early in Chicago so with the rays coming through our window, we were up by about 7 every morning.

We tried some new spots like Highline, which is probably the best brunch I’ve ever had in my life – not just in Chicago. If you are visiting, I highly recommend you go there. It’s a made to order buffet style restaurant (think action stations!) with a crazy good variety and I think it was only $30 a person? So worth it. We also visited some old favorites like RPM and Portillo’s – both of which I vow to never skip when I visit this city.

With mostly good weather, we spent a lot of time outdoors. We biked the entire Lakeshore drive which was so cool. You know what an affinity I have for biking in cities and I’m pretty sure if I lived in Chicago this is all I would do. I have to say, I had never seen so many adults rollerblading in my life – kinda strange, but pretty freaking cool.

I had such a great time in Chicago and can’t wait to go back! I hope you like this vlog – if you did I’d love to hear from you. These take way, way, way longer to make and I want to make sure that you guys are enjoying the content that I’m creating.
